American White Oak

American White Oak

A strong, versatile hardwood ideal for structural use, furniture, and flooring

American White Oak Hardwood Timber

American White Oak timber offers excellent overall strength properties relative to its weight, making it a preferred hardwood species for both structural and decorative applications. It is hard, relatively heavy, and provides strong bending and compression performance, while remaining stable once dry.

White Oak is particularly well known for its excellent steam bending capability. Combined with its ability to take finishes and stains easily, it is highly popular for furniture, flooring, and high-quality interior joinery.

Visually, American White Oak has an attractive grain pattern similar to other oak species grown worldwide. The sapwood ranges from whitish to light brown, while the heartwood varies from light to mid-brown and can darken over time. The grain is mainly straight with a medium to coarse texture, giving it a strong, natural appearance.

Typical Uses

Furniture, flooring, stairs, interior joinery, structural components, and architectural woodwork.
